                             Healing Grief and Loss

We experience grief in losing someone or something that has become part of our life: a beloved partner or friend, an animal, a life situation, security, our work, physical abilities or health.
Grief happens in all situations in which we are forced to confront the reality that we don´t have full control of many aspects of our being here, that really everything is impermanent and subject to constant change.

Grief is probably the deepst emotionmal experience of our life, because it destroys many of our illusions and confronts us with a basic reality of this life: that there is no lasting security, and that on this plane we have to let go of everything, including the people we love deeply, even our accomplishments and material posessions, and our unconscious belief that we can postpone our fulfillment or our love into the future.

Grief encompasses many different emotions and energies: Sadness, rage, depression, loneliness, helplessness, fear, resignation, vulnerability, love, forgiveness, letting go, acceptance, surrender and peace.

Grief is a universal and deeply human experience that guides us towards inner maturity and compassion, if we understand it and open to the pain and to all that forces us to go beyond the barriers of the known into the vastness of the humna heart und the depths of consciousness.

Grief and Loss

Repressed or rationalized grief can make one depressed, lonely or even very sick. Many terminal illnesses ultimately arise because of deep unsolved grief and the inability to let go of beloved ones or life situations when life forces us to.

Unresolved grief leads to an unconscious belief that similar life situations will arise and again. We may feel view ourselves as a victim and suffer from the idea that life does not offer us the happiness that we expect.

Grief points towards the truth that the source of joy and love is not to be found at the surface.

The answer is the willingness to experience our human life as a mystery that teaches us to open to the reality of a bigger loving presence and to realize something inside us which is beyond life and death, of form and personality. Without this realization our life remains empty and superficial.

This is the transcendent dimension of consciousness, "that which never dies"

In this seminar we learn and experience:
- to meet our grief, to grow through it and to find compassion for ourselves and others.
- to give ourselves space and time for our grief. Grief as a healing of old traumatic wounds.
- understanding the natural sequence in healing our fear and pain.
- to recognize our individual way of healing.
- to understand the transforming quality of grief.
- how to deal consciously with deep emotions like fear, rage, pain, loneliness, despair and helplessness.
- finding courage to meet the unknown
- to live with impermanence rather than denying it
- to live more in the reality of the present moment.
- to live our love and uniqueness
- finding strength to go on in life
- recognize that which never dies.
- living our love and uniqeness
- the willingness for love and surrender.

Whenever in your life you suffer a great loss- like the loss of posessions, your home, a close relationship, your reputation, your work or physical abilities- something dies inside you. You feel limited in your sense of "I". You may even lose your orientation: " without this - who am I ?"
When a form that you have unconsciously identified with leaves you or when it dissolves, this can be extremely painful. It leaves a hole in the fabric of your existence. If this happens, do not deny or ignore the pain and the grief that you experience.

Accept that they are. Be aware of the mind´s tendency to invent a story around the the loss in which you play the role of a victim. Fear, rage, or selfpity are the emotions that accompany this role. Become aware of what is at the basis of this role, and what hides behind the thought-created story: the hole, the emptiness. Can you face this strange feeling of emptiness and accept it?

If you can you will probably realize that there is nothing fearful anymore. You will suddenly realize that peace arises from there. Whenever death enters and a life form dissolves, the divine, the godliness, the formless and unmanifest shines through this gap that is left by this dissolving life form. Thats why death is the most sacred in life.

Therefore a great peace may descend on you
when you meditate on death and accept it.
